![]() Art Clay Silver ~ sometimes called precious metal clay, or just metal clay is a fascinating material which gives you amazing artistic freedom, and, in a few easy steps, lets you create fine silver or gold hand made jewellery using tools you probably already have at home. Not only can you use Art Clay Silver to make your own original jewellery, but those of you using ceramics, glass or polymer clay who are interested in exploring new creative materials can add a whole new dimension to your work by combining Art Clay Silver with your traditional materials. Art Clay Silver Clay and Gold Clay, made by the Aida Corporation, is often referred to as metal clay, precious clay or silver clay. It can be shaped, moulded,
pressed, rolled, coiled, sculpted, thrown, pulled and cut just as you
would with any other clay, even extruded from a syringe to create filigree-like
designs. You can use slip or paste to glue pieces together and add fine
silver wire, sterling silver, dichroic glass and other materials before
firing. After firing it can be drilled, filed, polished, burnished, tumbled, hammered, enamelled, soldered, in fact, anything you would do to any other precious metal you can do with silver clay. You can decorate your piece with Accent Gold for Silver™ (AGS) or Art Clay Gold Paste to give you sparkling gold accents or combine the clay with other metals or materials like copper, beads, dichroic glass, felt, leather, semi-precious gemstones, pearls, polymer clay, porcelain, wood~ your imagination is the limit.
